Awal Hakim is a youth guitarist from Singapore. He is currently playing for a band called Major 5th, playing mostly alternative rock. Born in July 1989, Awal has been playing music since he was 5 years old. Inspired by many great guitarist such as John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Buckethead, Paul Gilbert. Awal is mainly a self-taught guitarist, but learned music theory with his father who is a music teacher in several places.
