I might be late for the party but I find tDotW better than Consolamentum, both are amazing but tDotW is way heavier and atmospheric, it does hit you like a fucking fist in the face, it's beautiful and dark, really dark, I can't sense this kind of atmosphere in Consolamentum.
I'm still digesting Under Ether though, I found it very interesting but gave it only 2-3 spins , it does require some time to sink into your mind.
It's boring af. Almost nothing of significance happens throughout the entire playing time. The second album, I mean. And it's safe, for lack of a better word. None of the musicians in the band are incapable or lacking artistic vision, but most riffs on that album were forgettable, lacking any coherent larger vision.
Maybe I'll revisit it and find it different, - but that was my impression last time I listened to it.
I can't see why new Death and Black Metal bands can't seem to get a hold of a good logo to stay with untill the very end of their era. It's somewhat frustrating to "learn" to read their name over and over again, as they update their logo every two years.
sirbakedalot I can think of about 10 bands, off the top of my head that have solos fairly often. and try not to turn this into another trendy 'watain sux' fest, you can go be edgy and hip someplace else... because yes a lot stuff on Consolamentum sounds similar to Casus Luciferi. it's just fact...
