Artur Schnabel (April 17, 1882 – August 15, 1951) was a composer and also a pianist and teacher.
His compositions were, in Ernst Krenek's words, "of remarkable and unusual significance."
Schnabel was renowned for his seriousness as a musician, avoiding anything resembling pure technical bravura.
