Antonio Carlos Jobim & Sting (aka Antonio Carlos Jobim + Sting and Sting & Antonio Carlos Jobim), is a one-off Red Hot Organization collaboration of Antônio Carlos Jobim (aka Tom Jobim) and Gordon Matthew Sumner (aka Sting), for a re-recording of Jobim's Insensatez (How Insensitive) (May 1963, "The Composer of Desafinado Plays"): "How Insensitive" (aka Sting's How Insensitive, Sting & Antonio Carlos Jobim's "How Insensitive", Antonio Carlos Jobim + Sting's "How Insensitive" and Antônio Carlos Jobim's "How Insensitive (feat. Sting)"), first released on "Red Hot + Rio" (Oct 1996, Antilles).
Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim (January 25, 1927 in Rio de Janeiro – December 8, 1994 in New York), also known as Tom Jobim, was a Brazilian songwriter, composer, arranger, singer, and pianist/guitarist. A primary force behind the creation of the bossa nova style, his songs have been performed by many singers and instrumentalists within Brazil and internationally.
Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, CBE (born 2 October 1951), better known by his professional name Sting, is an English musician, singer-songwriter, activist, actor and philanthropist. Prior to starting his solo career, he was the principal songwriter, lead singer and bassist of the rock band The Police.
As a solo musician and member of The Police, Sting has received sixteen Grammy Awards for his work, receiving his first Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1981, and receiving an Oscar nomination for best song. He is a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
