British Film and Television composer.
Andrew's introduction into the world of music began when he was 11 years old learning to play the Highland Bagpipes.Aged just 12 he was writing music for the bagpipes to which the Royal Scots have a piece of his work in their repertoire that he wrote aged 14.He later enrolled on a course at a recording studio feeling the need to study the art of music but more so,film music and sound design.Until this point he had never used a music programme but he himself states-
''a whole new world opened up to me once I discovered that music could be written without a quill, manuscript paper and candlelight.Computers have given modern day composers so much more freedom to express themselves than years previous.Even though it may have limited the time some may spend studying the art of music, the exciting thing about it all is that new people are finding a skill that would have once been silent to them. It's up to them if they want to take this skill even further''.
Andrew had various releases on independent labels and also wrote music for short films, media projects and art festivals in the US.His talent for composing for film and television has been spotted by many,no more so than by his peers.Andrew says ''Music has the power to influence us.It has the power to tell us how to feel, how to think and in some cases how to behave.Music and picture combined is merely an extension to those emotions''.
