Amy married Woody Potter on October 17, 1996. Amy has a daughter by a previous marriage. Woody has a son and a daughter by a previous marriage, and one granddaughter.
Amy accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior on November 14th, 1995. Woody accepted the Lord in January, 2001. They try to give all glory to God in whatever they do, and they keep active doing Christian volunteer work. Their web page is at http://home.windstream.net/wpotter.
Their past lives are not to be lifted up as an example for others to follow but as a wonderful example of God's grace and mercy. Their lives have dramatically changed since they have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. They consider themselves "young Christians" (young in the faith), and they have much to learn about God and the Bible. Amy was saved (while attending a United Methodist church in Ohio) about a month after the two met. Woody was saved six years later while they were both attending a Missionary Baptist church in Kentucky. They now attend Calvary Baptist Church, a fundamental independent Baptist church in the heart of downtown Portsmouth, Ohio. Calvary's web page is www.becauseofcalvary.com.
Woody is retired from A.K. Steel Corporation in Ashland, Kentucky. He spends his time keeping up the land he owns in Greenup County, Kentucky. He enjoys woodworking, building and repairing computers, and bluegrass gospel music.
Amy has an Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Shawnee State University, Portsmouth, Ohio. She is a retired secretary/bookkeeper. She plays the piano and organ at church and sings in the choir and for specials. She is interested in bluegrass gospel, southern gospel, classical music, and old quartet-style church hymns.
Their goals are to spread the good news about God's amazing grace, about Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice for our sins, and about how Jesus died on the cross for your sins. They want everyone to know how to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Believe that Jesus died for your sins, was buried and rose again, and receive His free gift of salvation through the amazing grace of God Almighty! See that you spend your eternity in heaven, not in hell!
God will not force His will on you. For any Christian who seeks His wisdom, God has a better plan. Prayer is most important. How can you know God's will if you never ask Him? Learn to discern God's will in your prayer requests. Seek God's wisdom.
Woody's Favorite Bible Verse:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV)
Amy's Favorite Bible Verse:
(Philippians 4:13) I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
