I know him for almost year, but hadn't write any shout till now, 'cause I thought I'm not ready to describe beauty of Amethystium music. But honestly, I guess I will never be ready. So, just, I'm out of words when it comes to "Odonata". It's so intense that I don't need any other his albums yet to be mesmerised. Especially that its cover art reminds me soo much Myst, one of my beloved games, that it fits perfectly imaginations coming with sounds.
One of my favorites for long time. Served an LDS mission for 2006-2008, couldn't really listen to the same kind of music as I did back home. Buddy of mine gave me three Amethystium CD right before I left. I ran those CD's to the ground, metaphorically speaking. Still jamming this stuff to this day.
Truely my favorite artist in this area. The compositions are so diverse, mysterious, dark and yet delightful. I have seen beautiful worlds getting born by the mysterious sounds of Odonata and words collapse with the dark sounds of Transcience. The music has inspired me eversince I started listening, and it still does. Great great work. Keep it up!
The new album is absolutely top notch. Everything about it is fantastic and the "Dark Neowave-classical" sounds are incredibly apparent. Different style to the music in this album, but the distinction is not bad at all and it feels like Øystein Ramfjord is getting more and more comfortable branching out into uncharted sounds and emotions vested within the music! Love it.
Øystein Ramfjord, CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR NUMENOUS AMETHYSTIUM PROJECT. I LOVE "EVERMIND" AND "APHELION". THANKX YOUR TRACKS MAKE ME HAPPYIER. IN ALL LOUNGE-CHILLOUT STYLE YOU ARE THE BEST MIX OF THE GENRE WITH ETHEREAL. DO YOU WANT TO PLAY IN BRAZIL?
I have listened to Amethystium for several years now, love the music as it brings Piece Of Mind to me. One of my all time favorites is 'Silken Twine' on Isabliss, it moves my soul every time. I keep the albums Aphelion, Isabliss, and Odonata in my car at all times to relax me as I drive through the traffic madness of Los Angeles.
In this world so full of mediocre music, occasionally I catch some exception. Two of these exceptions are these:
Two musicians to follow very closely.
