Seems so sick to the hypocrite norm
    Running their boring drills
But we are an elite race of our own
    The stoners, junkies, and freaks

Are you happy? I am, man.
    Content and fully aware
    Money, status, nothing to me.
'Cause your life is empty and bare

    You can't understand a user's mind
But try, with your books and degrees
If you let yourself go and opened your mind
I'll bet you'll be using like me

Thu 7 Oct – The Blackdiamondskye Tour

I may be a youngin' and have only seen about 7 shows in my lifetime but I'm confident enough to say that this was definitely one of the best shows I've seen in my life. All three bands had amazing energy and stage presence.

I missed Mastodon's first two songs since I arrived a little later than planned, but the rest of their performance was incredible. I may not as a big of fan as them than the other two, but hearing "Megalodon" actually surprised me (admittedly, I don't keep up with their setlists), so I was going pretty bonkers over it. Coulda used some stuff from Remission Strangely enough, the during Deftones' set I coulda sworn I saw their drummer Brann Dailor walk past the area between the seats and the fences that circle the floor; odd, yet kinda cool.

    1. What is your name?
    Song: Situazion: Lebensgefahr
Comments: Fail. Good song, but completely irrelevant.

    2. Will you get far in life?
    Song: Tomorrows Dead
Comments: Given that I have a fair chance of dying any day with no warning, it seems appropriate.

    3. How can you get far in life?
    Song: No More Tears
Comments: Seems about right. It's served me well thus far.

    4. What is your profession?
    Song: Intro
    Comments: Ahahaha. Sure, why not?

    5. What do you really want from life?
    Song: Human(Intro)
Comments: No. I hate humans in general.

    6. What should you do to help others?
    Song: Tyrants
Comments: I'd actually be a pretty damn benevolent dictator, so yes. But I'd hate every moment of it. I don't want a burden like that.

    7. What should you do to help yourself?
Song: Walk, Don't Run You Fucking Idiot
Comments: Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I love my track renames.

    8. Will you succeed in life?
    Song: Ephemeral
Comments: I'll succeed in life for one day only? Yeah, that doesn't surprise me in the least.

  • Tuesday Ten: Drugs

    16 Oct 2008, 06:27 by amodelofcontrol

The late Bill Hicks probably had it right when he espoused his views on the links between musicians and drugs.

You see, I think drugs have done some good things for us. I really do. And if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight. Take all your albums, all your tapes and all your CDs and burn them. 'Cause you know what, the musicians that made all that great music that's enhanced your lives throughout the years — rrreal fucking high on drugs. The Beatles were so fucking high they let Ringo sing a few tunes.
And so I found, when I started casting around for suggestions for this list. It didn't take long (with the assistance of my girfriend and a few workmates) to have way over twenty suggestions for this list, and needless to say I got loads more once it went onto my LJ.

Obviously, and thankfully, perhaps, not all songs about drugs (and in drugs I mean legal and illegal, including cigarettes, alcohol…

Ders, ders, Rome :)... Müzikte unutulmaz tabi ki. Hele bu havada
Alice in Chains dinlemek süper bişey. Hele Junkhead dinlemek dahada ayrı...

    Alice in Chains w/ Hurt
    Wed. Oct 25, 2006
    930 Club, Washington, DC

This show sold out before I even found out about it. But after weeks of searching craig's list and shelling out $90+SH, I managed a ticket.

So I headed out as soon as I got out of class yesterday at 5, ate at my fav burger joint (Five Guys rocks!), and stood outside the club for over an hour to ensure getting to the front row. That said, there were still about a dozen people ahead of me in line. So I just stood out there watching Halloween 5 from outside the tour bus parked at the curb (I could see through the window). But this was well worth it, as I got right up against the stage.

Now to the show. Let me just say, Hurt sucked. Sounding like all the other crap on modern rock radio these days, and looking like truckers who recieved a Queer Eye makeover, this was a sad affair. The voice-phaser can be a cool effect, but using it every song get old. Also, opening bands have no business throwing water on the crowd.
  • Top 100 tracks ever?

    23 Oct 2006, 13:22 by DaytimeDilemma

There are different reasons for why different songs are here. Some of them make me sing (pretty much all of them do that actually), some dance, some cry, in some cases, I have no idea why I like them. They are in somesort of an order, first I tried to number them from one to hundred, but that was impossible to do. Then I put them in groups of ten, but that was too difficult too, so I divided them into Good, Better, the Best and The Best of the Best.

I may feel the need to comment on some of my choises...

    Every Time He Comes Around
    Good Looking
Mother Not kidding. I love it.
    Red Right Hand
    Voodoo People
The Day I Tried to Live
Sell Your Body (To the Night)
Torn The singalong tune of all time, plus it makes me feel ever worse when suffering from heartache, and that's actually a good thing.
Morgenstimmung I have always thought that Edvard Grieg is the pop of classical music, if that makes any sense…
