Hey folks,
i thought i start making some toplists of my top music of all time. I'll start with my metal side of music taste, not just because there aren't as many tracks as in other genres ;) The list contains all subgenres like Black, Folk, Ambient Black, Viking, Progressive, Dark etc. I will add a best album list as well below the songs. It was very hard to sort all these great songs into a toplist... It's not that i like the number 4 track much much more than the 10. Maybe i should just remove the numbers? But it was alot of work, so i leave it like it is for now :D

Вообще, решение посетить второй день фестиваля было довольно спонтанным (оособенно, что я не такой и большой фанат пост-рока): ещё во время анонса за много месяцев до самого события во взгляд бросились Alcest и toe. Из-за вечной занятости и работы в последнее время было как-то не до развлечений и об этом фесте я благополучно забыл, вспомнив о нем только в воскресенье днём. Проклиная себя и думая, что билетов мне не видать, с последней надеждой звоню в кассу клуба узнать есть ли билеты и можно ли их забронировать. Ответ удивил: "Бронировать ничего не надо, просто приезжайте и покупайте, тут билетов еще очень много". С двойственными чувствами поехал к клубу: с одной стороны, билеты все таки есть, но значит и клуб будет забит далеко не полностью.
Ожидание запуска людей у меня проходило в баре, где расположились toe в полном составе и затем Powder! Go Away. Японцы всё это время просидели за телефонами и макбуками, потягивая пивко, после чего они отправились в Старбакс. …

The darker genres of metal such as Black Metal have been associated themes such as evil, the occult and destruction. However, Alcest (which is band that started out as Black Metal) have taken a quite different direction in their lyrics and compositions.
Alcest is categorized as Shoegaze, and they generally incorporate screeching Black Metal vocals and blast and grind drum beats. However, their guitarwork is more akin to something which generates feelings of happiness and contentment.
The track Souvenirs d'un autre monde contains a complete explanation of Alcest's concept according to the band members. The rough translation of the lyrics (using Google Translate) is as follows:

Lantlôs to formacja założona w Niemczech na przełomie 2005 i 2006 roku przez Herbsta i Angrrau. Początkowa działalność duetu oscylowała w rejonach nieposkromionej muzycznej agresji i brutalnego, metalowego grania. Nagrania z tamtego okresu, głównie ze względu na niską jakość dźwięku zostały wydane jako demo i w bardzo limitowanej ilości kopii. Rok 2008 przyniósł pierwszy długogrający album zatytułowany Lantlôs, na którym wokalnie udzielił się Alboîn. Jednak wkrótce po premierze wspomnianego krążka współpraca kolektywu tworzącego Lantlôs dobiegła końca. Za mikrofonem stanął znany między innymi z Alcest Neige, a sesyjnym perkusistą został Felix Wylezik. …
