As song by South African musician Albert Meintjes, from his album ''The Very Silence of Waiting in This Place'', on which he sings about the places he visited while touring Namiba in 2016. In this song he explains how mesmerized he felt while sitting at the edge of the world, a place where every second is a lifetime, the place where the Fish River flows through.

The Fish River is the longest interior river in Namibia. It cuts deep into the plateau which is today dry, stony and sparsely covered with hardy drought-resistant plants. It also flows through the Fish River Canyon, located in the south of Namibia. It is the largest canyon in Africa, as well as the second most visited tourist attraction in Namibia. It features a gigantic ravine, in total about 160 km (100 miles) long, up to 27 km wide and in places almost 550 meters deep.
