Biography

Adukwu Samuel Atadoga who goes by the stage name of Ajofe StreetMic is a United States-based Afro-alternative Nigerian singer and record producer who was born on the 7th day of October 1989. He started writing songs back in his middle school days (2003) and had recorded a demo titled Oboi Wetin by his junior year in high school (2006). He embarked on his professional music career in 2009 while in Kogi State University studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Theater & Communication Arts degree.

Influenced by the works of Fela Kuti, Jay Z, Swizz Beatz, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, and Kanye West, he was immersed in cultivating his craft in performance and songwriting following his enrollment in college. Before graduating with a cum laude in Theatre and Communication Arts in the fall of 2011, StreetMic tha Virus as he was called then had headlined over 4 dozen of concerts and released numerous singles that aired several times on local radio stations. He had also become an influential record producer and talent manager that successfully piloted careers of other local talents.

After graduating from college in 2011, Ajofe StreetMic went on musical hiatus (between 2011 and 2014). While taking time off from professional recording and performance, he worked for an international Christian organization (Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministry) in Abuja, Nigeria where he managed the media and IT facilities of the organization as a departmental head. He would produce instrumentals on his work computer with headsets and write and record the songs at a small studio he co-owned in a suburb area of Abuja called Nyanya. This practice aided him in honing his unique skills in the genre of Afro alternative music (a blend of Afro eccentric tones, root reggae and hip-hop samples on a mid-baritone stimulating vocal chords). This creative crafting process continued till August 2014 when he moved to the United States to pursue a Master of Arts in Public Relations degree at the University of Northern Iowa.

While rounding up class work for his Master program, Ajofe started collecting samples and creating original instruments for his self-titled debut project - Outta Skool: The Story Book which was officially released on the 25th day of July 2016 under exclusive license to Hustle.360 LLC, an entertainment production company he found and co-own. With a unique, dark, and catchy style of delivery, the EP emotionally tells inspiring stories of a young lad sailing through the tough waves of life. Outta Skool: The Story Book has enjoyed over 300,000 streams on SoundCloud since release.

Fast-forward to 2017, Ajofe StreetMic released his second EP titled Sweet XVI on the 25th day of July 2017. Ajofe StreetMic is currently back in the studio working on solo projects, collaborative projects and features.
