'Aghast Manor' is a new musical idea of Andréa Nebel, providing perfect soundtracks for dark disturbing films. Ghostly sounds of music and strange voices.
All thanks to actress Megan Fox who heard the old Aghast song 'Irrlicht' and was totally scared from it, and thus inspired Andréa to rekindle the Aghast type of atmosphere. The new idea, Aghast Manor, is of course more modern and deliberately directed towards soundscapes suitable for film and visional effect.
The first album 'Gaslights' is giving you images of industrial lunacies, visions of decadence, absinth smokes and dark poetry, femme fatales, 1920's oriental occult experiences … diving deep into the depths of Cthulu's realm. Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation has submitted a song called 'Suck My Drain'. .. Gaslights is due to be out this December.
Though Andréa is pretty occupied these days with script writing and finding acting and film jobs, she announced there will be live shows with Aghast Manor. The Aghast Manor songs will be combined with a few of the spoken words from the Andréa Nebel album ’The Dark Side of Dreaming’, plus theatre and visual art.
She is already working on a second Aghast Manor album called ’Penetrate’, and with this she wants to enter a much more industrial and electronic sound world…
Ambient sounds and 'spoken word' and also the new industrial album is not her 'new' music direction, it's just side projects for her, an outlet for expressing a different feeling. Andréa is working on her next personal album as well of course (as Andréa Nebel this time, not Nebelhexe). This new album will again be more gothic or alternative… But she always needs new arenas to explore.
