Aaron Cottam was born in Douglas, Isle of Man on 9th March 1999.
Musically minded from a young age, Cottam began learning acoustic guitar from age 9, but lost interest and stopped a few years later.
Refusing to discard his mind for music, he then turned to experimenting with purely digital means and found his initial style in ambient electronic music.
Cottam's influences lie far away from electronic music however, citing bands such as Alcest and latter-day Ulver and Violet Cold.
These influences resulted in Cottam's take on electronic music being very unique and refreshing, often incorporating uncommon time signatures and musical elements from outside the genre.
Cottam's debut album titled "Anchor" was released on New Year's Day in 2017 with moderate local success.
Cottam began working on his sophomore release immediately after the release of Anchor. To bridge the gap between releases, a mini-EP was issued in April 2017 titled Nobis Opus. This release built on the base of his debut, but clearly incorporating a decidedly heavier take on electronic music, sometimes utilizing double-kick drums and heavy bass textures to create a denser sound to its predecessor.
Since the release of Nobis Opus, Cottam continued his gradual shift in style - next adopting more post-rock/metal elements similar to his own listening tastes and adding to his electronic roots. Even so early in his discography it is clear that Cottam refuses to sit still stylistically.
He is currently working on a new LP set for release in 2018.
