세컨드 (English: SECOND) is a 4-member South Korean Trot girl group that debuted on August 2, 2016 under Great Entertainment.. The members are Cho EunByul (조은별), Eun-Pyo (은표), Lani (라니) and Hong Ye-na (홍예나).
Pre-debut
In May 2002, EunByul Cho had debuted as part of three-member girl group LUV (This group's artist page: 러브). Whose other members were Hye-Bin Jeon and Yeon-Seo Oh. The group ended up disbanding.
Before joining SECOND, members Ye-Na Hong and Eun-Pyo were professional cheerleaders. Ye-Na was part of the Changwon LG Sakers team.
Member Lani was rhythmic gymnast and had worked in musicals such as Rocky Horror Show. She also had already debuted by the time she was part of the group under the name JeongRan (정란).
Debut 2016
SECOND debuted as a five member group. The members were Ye-na Hong, Lani, Eun-Pyo, Sarah (사라) and Si-yeon (시연). The group debuted on August 2, 2016 with the EP 아몰라 미워. The title track was "아몰라 미워" (I don't know I hate you). There were 3 other tracks on the EP called: "아몰라 미워 (Remix)", "아몰라 미워 (Inst.)", and "아몰라 미워 (Remix) (Inst.)". It was distributed by Kakao M.
Later, after the promotions of this EP, members Sarah and Si-yeon left and EunByul joined the group.
2018: 2nd Release and Awards
On April 5, 2018, the group released 키스해 주세요 (Kiss Me Please), with the title track being "키스해 주세요" (Kiss Me Please). Two other tracks on the single were: "키스해 주세요 (MR)" (Kiss Me Please (MR)) and "키스해 주세요 (Remix)" (Kiss Me Please (Remix)) . This single was distributed by the company RIAK.
During this year, the group won the Girl Group category in Hallyu Girl Group Grand Prize. They also won the Hallyu Culture Contribution division at the 2018 Hallyu Culture Awards.
2019 - 2021
In March 2019, the group appeared on TV Chosun's show, Miss Trot. On the show, the group performed a Trot Medley.
On August 5, 2019 the group performed at the Naksan Beach Festival where they performed a K-pop Medley (which included songs like KOYOTE's "Pure Love".) and their song "키스해 주세요" (Kiss Me Please).
On January 20, 2021, they released their 3rd single "술술술" (Drink Drink Drink) it was distributed by KDM.
