メアリィ (Meary) were a visual-kei band signed to ROCKSTAR RECORDS. They originally formed in June of 2015 with a first demonstration live, but later announced the start of their formal activities with the launch of aforementioned record label in July of the same year. Thematically, the band tends to write songs centered around mental illness and depression–both of which are common topics for this scene.
メアリィ's first set of releases came in the form of a 3-month consecutive single campaign. From October through December of 2015, the singles 未練, O錠様, and 失楽 were released. On December 23rd, メアリィ also participated in the omnibus BLACK MARKET GANG I and contributed their previously unreleased song "殺意と善意の狭間で・・・."
In February of 2016, the band announced the release of their first full-length album "メンヘライズム(menhealerism)." After a delay in production, the album was finally released in the summer of 2016.
In the fall of the same year, Meary left ROCK STAR RECORDS due to the label closing. There is a lot of speculation around what happened, but many members of the various bands signed to the label came forward to say that they had been horribly mismanaged. Unfortunately, this eventually led to Meary deciding to break up in January of 2017.
At their last live, a final CD entitled "御手紙 (Gotegami)" was distributed. This song was produced by Yuuga of Devil Kitty, and served as a farewell to their fans.
