It's better to tag them as ダリ than as un-unicoded Dali (what, btw, a lot of people do) or as DALI (in unicode, what also a lot of people do.). so. stop complaining.

Oh god I have no idea what's going on between the two ._. I've never really listened to either. Does anyone have a website that could lead me to one or the other's discog so I know who is who?

atmosnote continued: So basically, both bands started out as ダリ and later changed their name to a variant of Dali. Extremely complicated (and I'm still not entirely sure if the UNDER CODE band did it on purpose, just to frustrate everyone). If it helps, the non-UCP band used ダリ, on all of their CDs, while the UCP band has used Dali on at least four. So I guess you could seperate them t

atmosnote: That's where it really fucks up. The non-UNDER CODE band started out as ダリ (but made their official romanization clear through OHP and things like that), and all of their releases use the katakana. However! They put out a flyer shortly before they disbanded, which used the name DaLi instead (or some sticky-caps variant of that) ...continued!...

I changed all of my tags to Dali. Unfortunately, that means that ANOTHER artist has to share that last.fm page, but there's really no alternative. If you keep the Japanese tag, it's incorrect. But I guess it's a personal preference, really. I certainly don't blame anyone for keeping the incorrect artist name in order to avoid seeing a page that's shared between four or five artists.

myHOUCHOU: I'll try to make this quick and understandable. The band that formed first was the non-UNDER CODE one, and their name was officially ダリ. Then, the UNDER CODE band formed, and their name was also officially ダリ. At that point, the older, non-UCP band changed their name to DaLi, to avoid confusion. Then they disbanded, and the UCP band changed to Dali.

No, the band's name is officially Dali. Their official website is run by a webdesigner who often gets information incorrect. It's a common occurance and can't be avoided. Many who write in Japanese still use ダリ, but that's only because it is more convient. Even the band members use the English. Though I'm personally against unicode tagging, I think it's a good way to solve the name problem.

The disbanded ダリ did Shougo no Soramuyou. At this point, the UNDER CODE ダリ has had no song titles consisting solely of kanji. So if you're unsure which band did a song, usually you can tell by the amount of English/katakana used (oor you can check my fansite, which I plug like a whore!)
