In my opinion, "Nebulous Nights" is a masterpiece-- it's essentially Röyksopp's take on The KLF's "Chill Out". I've long wanted something more akin to a continuation of "Senior's" ambient offerings, and this new release is in a class of its own. There's a substantial number of highlights in both the reworked and original material, and I love the numerous overt and subtle references— Pete Namlook + The KLF are pretty explicitly there, but also Biosphere, Vangelis, The Orb, Boards of Canada... It's sort of like the "Junior" / "Senior" duality again, but on a much grander scale. In totality, it's a rewarding and indulgent love letter / dedication, and I can see why it was put out in the manner that it was. I am curious just how long ago this has technically been "finished", seeing how this has been teased at as of PM III's release date.

Yeah, as much of a fan as I am, the "Profound Mysteries" trilogy is hit-or-miss. There's some excellent tracks on there, but the lyricism is pretty light and repetitive, and some tracks I just cannot get into at all. There's about 5-6 tracks each on PM I and II that I enjoyed, but PM III at least has the best ratio of quality and quantity in my opinion. With the slight exception of "Me&Youphoria" being a dime-a-dozen electropop track, everything else on the release is pretty fantastic; it's become my second or third favorite Röyksopp album.
