The Jam were a great band that spoke on behalf of kids who knew the score, there aren't bands like these lot anymore. Bands now just speak on behalf of their bank manager. PS It's a pity lumbered themselves with the Mod thing, they were better than mere revivalists.
was the jam ever really a punk band,no not really, english punk was more than about music, there was a political statement there, rebeling against thatcher and what she stood for, you need to be english to understand that, was one of those things that you had to live it through it to understand that ,hence it was short lived but changed rock music forever . but the jam were great and never really replicated, think the attitude that they had was how they got rolled into punk idea
