Portico - Living Fields (Last.fm Lightship95 Series)
Portico perform Living Fields for Last.fm on the Lightship95 in London
In advance of their show on 18.03 at Village Underground as part of the Convergence London event series (more on that here) we were honoured to have the beautifully eerie Portico deliver us a two-track performance as part of the Last.fm Lightship95 Series (which has previously featured Tycho, Glass Animals and Yann Tiersen). Featuring the truly stunning vocals of Jono McCleery across both tracks, the band showcased their ambitious sound to wonderful effect.
Formerly known as Portico Quartet, this new chapter for the band sees them doing away with the jazz-influenced hang drum and saxophone which saw them become so popular back in 2007 and enhancing their sound by applying analogue recording styles to electronic textures. Their first album as Portico was released by the much-respected Ninja Tune imprint on March 30th.
