We spoke to Blackberry Smoke ahead of their Last.fm-hosted sold out show at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London
Southern rock/outlaw kings Blackberry Smoke have seen a pleasingly steady rise in popularity in the UK - starting off with humble dates at the Barfly up to the larger O2 Islington Academy and now, at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. We were asked to come on-board as show hosts for this biggest London headline to-date and we couldn't have said yes quick enough - not many things as satisfying as a transatlantic music success story. The sound of Blackberry Smoke is one UK audiences may not be totally familiar with but perhaps this is the band's appeal - bringing that deep American twang from the US to these British shores.
