Montgomery Gentry is one of the best Country-Rock groups out there in my opinion. My history, the first song I actually connected to this group was Speed from My Town. Love this song. Heartful, ballad, great. From there I tested the waters a bit and picked up their first album. Some good stuff, from there I finished out their discography and am on my fourth listen this week to their most recent album: Some People Change
So my take.
This album opens with a great anthem Some People Change Got to love this song.
Moves right into a staple MG rock/country song Hey Country
This album got good flow, ballads and movers. Good lyrics.
Twenty Years Ago is an amazing upbeat ballad about a father and son who never saw eye to eye.
Lucky man has a great line "My ticker's ticking like they say it should. I got supper in the oven, a good womans loving"
Now that's a country line.
