Dic 30 2011, 23:27 di Kieran0411*According to me.
Had a lot on this year and didn't quite get the usual amount of time to discovering new music, which was disappointing… but a large handful of my most played artists on last.fm released albums in 2011 which kept me satiated, then i tried to cram a whole gang of albums onto my listen playlist for december, which resulted in some pleasant finds.
In alphabetical order...

Giu 14 2011, 14:03 di MelonenmannDuring the last five years not only my musical taste experienced a great development. I also developed a new passion (indeed an all-consuming one) - the passion of visiting concerts!
It all started with Roger Waters (ex-Pink Floyd, if some of you didn't know) playing The Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety and more songs in Lucca, Italy. What a fascinating experience!
And since then I had the great luck to see bands live which most people have been waiting for for years (such as Sunn O))), Neurosis, Ulver...).
Over the years I wondered if I would still have the same incredible feelings in my stomach after all these concerts or if it would come to a mere usualness. Of course the answer is NO!
After more or less 50 concerts I can say that it's still worth spending every pence on it. Needless to say that there are shows which are outstanding and other ones that are not nearly comparable with those, but they're still great experiences and all leave unique memories behind.

Information Society - Dimitri and co were a blast
Low - at St. David's Church - definitely a religious experience. Incredibly loud, incredibly gorgeous
Full Metal Texas:
Goes Cube - unlike last year, they had an audience this year. Played new stuff from their recent EP's.
Kvelertak - ohmygod - party and a fucking half. jesus. brilliant
Hull - slow sludgey stuff like this pretty much always works for me on some level. really solid set.
The Funeral Pyre - last minute replacement for Rwake - I had associated them as equally as fast+thrashy as Landmine Marathon, since they did a split EP together recently, but this set was more than half breakdown/buildup, and had an excellent atmosphere of impending facemelting (which it did deliver, in incredible bursts).
Trap Them - seen 'em twice now. still don't get it
YOB - 4 songs in 40 minutes - exactly as amazing as I was hoping for - heavy as fucking hell and psyched out
