“FunSlowRide (International Collective of Music Travellers) è un progetto corale, prodotto da GeGè Telesforo con la complicità di Leo Sidran in due intensi anni di lavoro tra Brooklyn, Madison, Londra e la campagna a nord di Roma, tutti elementi che si possono rintracciare nel sound del disco: c'è la tranquillità, il suono della natura ma anche i rumori e il fervore creativo di metropoli come Londra e New York.”

Like many of great collective musical projects, FunSlowRide has at its center the idea
of love and unity, and brings diverse personalities from around the world into a common chorus while at the same time delivering a very personal message.
The International Collective of Music Travelers, FunSlowRide, took special care on this project to identify some of the most exciting and talented singers and musicians around today and to invite them to the collaboration.
FunSlowRide' members deliver their soul in the sound of the music, funky but sweet, gentle but raw, the approach is both completely contemporary and classic at the same time. You can feel the intimacy of a small studio in the country where these tracks were recorded, often under the cover of night and behind the veiled curtain of smoke and wine.
Perhaps the true collective spirit of the project comes to life in the vocals. Each song features a different singer. Brooklyn based stylists Alan Hampton, Sachal Vasandani, Joanna Teters, Moses Patrou and Joy Dragland, all deliver memorable and personal vocal performances recorded in Brooklyn. Ben Sidran also makes an appearance as the wise philosopher on “Let The Children”; the startlingly fresh voices of Ainé and Greta Panattieri round out the ensemble cast, and GeGe' Telesforo materializes occasionally for one of his trademark scat solos.
FunSlowRide behaves as a testament to the unifying power of music. Songs like “Say No”, “Let The Children”, “Green Doctor” and “Who Am I?” speak to the common responsibility we all have as citizens of the world to future generations, while the modern rearrangement of Bob Marley’s “I shot the sheriff” recasts the Reggae classic as an international anthem. But perhaps it is in the collaboration with Alan Hampton, “Next”, that the album truly reveals itself in a more personal light, as a message from fathers to their daughters, reflections on life as it passes before our eyes and under our feet.
