Prince belongs in ultra rare constellation of music stars, and the best way to start with him imho is from the very beginning. His presence and evolution in popular music universe, primarily
as an individual, and his vast legacy deserves to be explored with care. (experience & revelations are guaranteed!)

"The Prince estate has announced a massive, vault-raiding reissue for 1987’s Sign O’ the Times, featuring more than 45 unreleased studio recordings."
They're shaking that vault upside down by the ankles and I'm here for it.
I doubt. With childish excitement he believed that time is a trick, so if you accept algorithm of time and continue to count your birth-days, your mind is giving up & body deteriorates. Last time i checked, some pasta simmered on the stove in June and all Prince saw was another full moon. Makes no sense... but it wil soon.
The Sign O The Times album. What an absolute trip. A genius at the height of his powers knocking it outta the park with every track, playing with and blending different genres like a mad purple scientist creating yet another masterpiece. Your Purple Majesty, the work you left us is a great comfort in what is very trying times for the whole world.
... it doesn't seem that long ago we were singing along to Prince's 1999 & waiting to see what the Millenium bug would do to us all!!!
here's to Prince Rogers Nelson
..... A strong spirit transcends rules...
People who have no creativity, talent, or courage are the ones who follow the rules. Be brave, be bold, step up and make your own! The passion that lies inside of you means you do not need to follow the pack because you transcend it. (one of his finest quotes)
Agree. I don't think pop music ever witnessed such a multi-talented artist as Prince, before or since. Whether that makes him hands down the best I dunno, lots of other greats, but certainly a strong contender.
One of my biggest regrets as a music fan, is not having been a much bigger Prince fan back in the early 2010s when he was relatively 'unfashionable' and a lot of his slightly rarer/quirkier stuff (especially on vinyl) could still be had at reasonable prices. Reissues of Come, The Black Album and The Gold Experience ASAP, please.
I was lucky enough to see him live once but I was too young to understand 😔
only recently I truly went through his discography because if I had earlier my dad's side of the family woulda made fun of me, I mean they do but I could give less of a shit now lol
