Normally I don't like pop music but the pop music of the 80s (like new wave and synth pop) is another thing. I was always fascinated by the first half of the 80s, especially 1984, I'd love to travel back to april 1984 for a few days. From that year I have albums of Nik Kershaw, Howard Jones, Thompson Twins, The Stranglers and Bronski Beat. In The Garden by Eurythmics (1981) is also great.
Human Racing is a great album, 9 of 10 songs are great and the lyrics are clever sometimes.
Brutally underrated artist I'm quite young (sadly, I was born in late eighties, so I didn't even exist in the best music times) and I'm still discovering him... and I'm impressed. His lyrics are brilliant! Fantastic songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he was way ahead of his time. What a shame the world didn't pay enough attention to his music after his two first albums. 15 Minutes, Ei8ht, Radio Musicola and other... they are all great as well! And beautiful acoustic 'No Frills' and amazing collaborations like "Sometimes" or "Old Friend"... Fucking masterpieces. You're the winner if you please, Nik.
I've just learn the release of his last album and lurk around to ear some pieces waiting for the album to reach my mailbox. Once again an pure jewel. Can't wait to ear the complete album, but "the sky's the limit" and "I fell" are definitely AWESOME.
