Amazing that Metallica released one of their best albums 40 years ago. Happy 40th anniversary to Ride the Lightning!

I just saw Metallica live for the first time, and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to 🤘🏻it's a vile lie that they can't play live anymore, the band sounded great tbh and James can still sing

i love kill 'em all, i love ride the lightning, and i love master of puppets (the first cd i ever owned), but ...and justice for all is my favorite album of all time. i'm not saying this is definitive or anything, it's just how i feel after like 35 years. (i'm 44 as i post this.)

First they were the band from Stranger Things and now the band from Fortnite. LOL!

The band that has been perhaps the most monumental in getting me into heavy metal save for Sabbath, I have fond memories of being introduced to Metallica since I was 9 or so listening to The Black Album and Justice with my dad who is no longer around sadly. I don't think I would've gotten to known the least bit about metal music as a whole if it wasn't for these guys.

Day 3 is complete! From "Hardwired" to "Inamorata." Three non-stop days of Metallica; 150 songs (incuding the two originals from "S&M," "I Disappear" and "Garage Inc."); about 15 straight hours of Metallica's entire studio discography. It's been a blast, and I'm looking forward to listening to something else.

«...And Justice For All» is the one & only truly great Metallica album! Idk why pop «Black Album» and boring pseudo-extreme «Master Of Puppets» more popular. P S. It's very funny, that in '87 Death already dropped really hard death-metal album, but Metallica somehow recorded outdated «...And Justice For All» at '88

I think its a pretty well know fact that ...ajfa is awfully mixed, which is why it sounds dated even compared to Master of Puppets from two years earlier, the way the bass was mixed and the hella scooped guitars don't hinder it to badly imo as someone who doesnt mind borderline trash mixing but I get where you come from.

'...And Justice for All' is one of my favorite albums of all time. To anyone reading this: what's a progressive thrash album similar in sound and scope? I like prog metal bands (Tool, Queensrÿche, Dream Theater, etc.), but I'm looking for prog thrash albums SPECIFICALLY emulating AJFA; it could be copying its sound to the point where it's derivative, I don't care, I'd like more of this sound. Bandcamp, Spotify... whatever, it's all good. Thanks in advance.

What is your favoritesong on Metallica Black Album? To me My Friend Of Misery is the best song from that album. Somehow i like Don’t Tread On Me. That is amazing song overall!
