Whilst not much is known about her early life, it is known that Ichimaru was born on the 16th of July, 1906 and was named Mitsue Goto by her parents. As one of 11 siblings, life was difficult for the family, and at the age of 14-15, Ichimaru eventually left home to work at a geisha house.
