Colter Wall remains one of the few artists left who is himself. The fall of Isbell, Childers, and Sturgill was imminent. Colter, Godwin, Arlo, Noe, and company will hopefully pick up the torch that has all but burned out and carry on.

He's 28?! He sounds ancient (in the best way). Just discovered Imaginary Appalachia and can't stop playing it.

Fucking phenomenal! This guy has one of the most impressive country & western discographies of all-time, and I only see his songwriting improving. Do not miss out on Colter Wall!

I think aside from imaginary appalachian and the bob fudge cover, this new stuff is my favorite.

I've always struggled to find country music that I like... Colter Wall has been the only artist in the genre that I've consistently returned to. Does anyone know any similar artists? Like- One man and a guitar with an old 1800s western feel. Everything I get suggested is always more produced sounding or full on country bands.

He sounds really out of his time. Wild Dogs, John Beyers the Camaro song really sound like some Outlaw country recorded in the 60s. But there’s a genuine authenticity here in his voice and songs. I heard him on the way to a shitty bar and I really loved his stuff

Making my way through Rough Trade 2017 best albums list; somehow this chap had slipped through the radar. Listened yesterday evening, tickets booked for Leeds in Feb today. Expect a lot from this chap in the future, what a voice! And top songs to boot - blown away. A rare calibre indeed. Wish him all the best for the future.
