"Life Without Sound" is very popular with Japanese indie rock fans.
Many people say it is "an album symbolizing 2017".
I can not believe that youtube's views are so few.
In Japan, Cloud Nothings is more popular than the best coast and wavves. I think.
After a couple of listens I was disappointed, gave it some time and came back even stronger. Comparatively this is light years ahead of the new Japandroids. Definitely has all the elements of Cloud Nothings. Solid record.
Is it me or is the production on "Life Without Sound" kinda poo poo? I liked the fuzziness of "Here and Nowhere Else", but I feel the vocals are kind of drowned out in an annoying way. Might be 'cause my headphones broke and I've had to resort to listening on shitty earbuds.
Very disappointing. Such a flat and uninspired record. The songwriting is poor as well. What has happened? I bet this album ends up being the one that propels them to that next level though since mediocrity seems to breed "listenability" these days.
That's cool, and I think I kind of get what you're saying. It blossomed for me after repeated listens. You have Cloud Nothings' greatness throughout this record though. Hooks are strong - Things are Right With You chorus, Modern Act, Sight Unseen. You still have the hazy punk shredding - Darkened Rings. You have the show-stopping visceral shouting anthems in Strange Year, Darkened Rings, Realize My Fate. You get a little more of a streamlined approach with this record I think for sure - there isn't a long, 7-11 minute number like Pattern Walks or Wasted Days, and there's a more "accessible", lighter-melodied sort of hit with Enter Entirely. but i still feel like this sounds like a cloud nothings record, and a good one. I think it sounds very good. as far as the flat songwriting, i kiiind of get what you're saying but i really dont think it's as prominent. I think that kind of feeling will fade with repeated louder listens or catching them live. it did for me.
Help me out here, Cloudbros. Is he saying I need time to stay useless, as in he needs some time for him to stay useless OR is he saying I need time to stay useless as in he needs time itself to stay useless. Probably overthinking this one but need some closure, thanks!
