    (updated, minor corrections only though)

OK, after finally getting a good night's sleep, I might as well write my own thoughts about The Fans Strike Back. Obviously I can only talk about things I actually watched, and I've pretty much covered all of those, even the ones that didn't really make much of an impression. So here we go, in chronological order:

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone: Aww, he was so cute! Seriously, he was like an oversized teddy-bear. Anyway, the pleasant tunes and the whole self-deprecating attitude made for an entertaining show, and I'll make sure to check out more of the guy's music.

Jeffrey Lewis: Nope, sorry, did nothing for me. Boring, boring, and did I mention he was boring?

Health: Wow, what a punch in the ears (yeap, that's a positive thing). These guys are very innovative with their music, and their live performance was a 45-minutes non-stop full-frontal sonic attack. Great fun too!

    Friday, band-wise, wasn't very good.

Grouper was the first act that played. I don't know. Boring but not bad. Everything sounded the same. I think we saw Health after that. Fuck that was bad. Actually I just saw them play two songs so i can't really give a fair impression, but both their looks and their performance were at its indie hipster worst. You know, in this kind of bands there is always some asshole who does nothing but dance and hit a floor tom. I could have handled that if the music was good, but at no point it tried to go somewhere. These guys probably think they're really intense without having to write decent songs for that.

After a while I decided it was much more interesting to walk around a bit and indulge myself in the wonderful culture that England harbours. Tasteless fastfood, for instance. People were quite laidback and friendly though. Cigarettes awfully expensive. …

    What a weekend!!!!

I've had a sleep now, so I can actually review this properly...

Arrived with plenty of time to chill before heading off to see M83. Silly chalets didn't have the key cards activated until 4pm (although ours was 3.30pm) so we sat about and had a beer or 2.
M83 set things off to a great start. The sound was incredible. Admittedly, I was a bit dubious about their ability to bring their songs on stage, but I was completely blown away by the sound. Shame they didn't play "Slowly", or at least they didn't during the 45 minutes that we watched them for...Then it was off to see...
Andrew WK. Motivational speaker? A great show man for sure, and a fun choice to get the weekend kicked off. He's clearly a talented bloke, it's just a shame that everyone was there to go tits to "Party Hard". We didn't stay for as long as that... Never mind...
