It’s been a while since HARD had a line up worthy of its name: HARD Haunted Mansion 2010, with its epic line up, was a hard one to follow, and not until last weekend did HARD return to glory (or at least make its worth pronounced.)
First and foremost, one of the coolest acts there, Lunice, got a 1700 set time. What’s up with that? Lunice is a master producer, calling to early 90‘s hip-hop to inspire his rapid electro beats; he is definitely one to check out for when he tours. After missing out on Lunice, it was time to check out the venue itself.
In the heart of the Chinatown industrial district of downtown LA, it was hard not to notice the skyscraper skyline and urban proletariat hills to it’s opposite side and how it contrasted with the natural feel of being in a park. The trees helped in creating an sense of escape, an escape into auditory brilliance.
Having soaked in the scenery, it was time to rage.
