Described as “the place where all of your senses align," KAABOO Del Mar brought on another blissful, beachside escape for its fifth annual festival. The San Diego music festival took place on 13 to 15 September at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This year's lineup mixed rock, electronic, rap, and comedy on top of artisanal food vendors, craft beer bars, and art installations for festival-goers to enjoy.
While KAABOO Del Mar aimed to maximize the festival experience, it also made an effort to minimize its carbon footprint. The fest teamed up with the PangeaSeed Foundation to reduce single-use plastics and carbon emissions by increasing the number of recycling and composting stations throughout the event.
KAABOO Del Mar's seven stages were the obvious highlight for all eyes and ears. Headliners Mumford & Sons covered Nine Inch Nails's “Hurt," REO Speedwagon closed their set with “Two Tickets To Paradise" as a tribute to Eddie Money, and The Revivalists brought out comedian Bob Saget to perform a cover of The Who's “My Generation."
CBS Photographer Steve Galli, now a three-time attendee of the fest, captured all the action onstage and reported back with images of musicians and comedians, from Wu-Tang Clan to Alec Benjamin to Jimmy O. Yang. Check out the highlights from this year's run below.
