EXCLUSIVE BENELUX SHOW
SUNDAY, 23TH OF SEPTEMBER
JC Den Eglantier, Antwerp-Berchem
Xerxes took shape in early 2009 in Louisville, KY. What was once may soon again be the hub of some of the most ferocious and original music coming out of the country’s punk and hardcore underbelly. Xerxes’ sound channels the energy and passion of mid-90’s originators You and I and Saetia, while adding the more upbeat and brutal thrash mentality of contemporaries such as Trash Talk and Ampere, making for a sound that runs the gamut of blast-beat aggression and emotional rumination.
THE TIDAL SLEEP
The Tidal Sleep is a relatively new band from Mannheim and Karlsruhe, Germany. The Tidal Sleep formed in 2011 and the band employs the use of post rock leanings to formulate a great style of post hardcore. The Tidal Sleep cites Envy, Jr. Ewing, At The Drive-In, The Smiths, and Cave In as influences. Musically, The Tidal Sleep fall into a style of post hardcore played by bands such as La Dispute, Pianos Become The Teeth, Defeater, and Pala. The band's use of post rock style guitarwork results in a epic, dynamic, and at times passionate sounding post hardcore. The band's vocals range from shouting to almost spoken word. Overall, The Tidal Sleep have crafted one hell of a record as their debut offering.
Midnight Souls took the stage for the first time in the winter of 2009 with no expectations and no idea how the scene would react. But after selling out their demo in a couple of months and numerous shows with international acts such as The Hope Conspiracy, Defeater, The Carrier, Dead Swans, This Is Hell and many more, it became clear that they tapped into something that was missing, something honest, something pure. Every show has been an explosive exposition of this pure honesty, leaving an impact on every viewer as they walk off stage at the end. A heartfelt attempt to face up to mistakes of the past, in search of a brighter future.
OFF THE CHARTS
