Description

King of the beats! The DJ’s DJ! Originator of the Mash-Up style! It’s Z-Trip returning to Oz with his all new AV Show!

No stranger to our shores, DJ Z-Trip is Zach Sciacca, an avid music collector who has worked tirelessly to take the foundations of Hip-Hop to the furthest reaches of the galaxy by way of his ingenious blends and def-defying skills. With his seminal mixes such as Uneasy Listening gathering momentum alongside ones like Cut Chemist and Shadow’s Brainfreeze at the turn of the century, Z-Trip took the format invented by Grandmaster Flash and showed what was really possible with two turntables, spearheaded a genre known as mash-up, which would transform music for a decade to follow.

A festival mainstay, Z-Trip rocks crowds in the tens of thousands for breakfast. With digital technology only assisting his quest even further, he’s been able to take his craft to a new level and works directly with technology companies like Rane/Serato and was instrumental in the development of the DJ Hero videogame series that has further made him a household name.

His Shifting Gears album from 2005 spawned several hits singles, proving Z-Trip’s prowess behind the boards was just as razor sharp as his skills behind the decks. In recent years, his content heavy website has provided a number of exclusive and official remixes for artists like Nirvana, 2pac and LL Cool J as well as a career spanning and artist-approved Beastie Boys catalogue mix.

Don’t miss Z-Trip as he makes his triumphant return to Australian shores this August, his first shows in over two and a half years!
