We run gigs for artists we love.
Avalanche Ammo / Shardborne / Dian Chect
Nov. 23rd // Baker Place // €5 // 9pm
For Economics #1 we’ve grabbed hold of Avalanche Ammo, some sort of masked lunatic from Kildare described as a “one-man euphoric racket factory” that quite frankly, makes some of the best tunes we’ve heard this year. A wild flurry of layered riffs, positive melodies and spatterings of glitch, shouting and fun, his free Animals EP sets the tone for a hefty dose of high energy, technical, electronic-infused instrumental rock.
“It sounds like The Redneck Manifesto on crack.”
“A wild flourish of math-rock instrumental prowess that is incredible considering that the breadth and strength of sound coming out of the speakers could be a fully-blown band with years of innate experience.”
- Sonic Masala
Alongside him we have the technically jaw-dropping Shardborne, an instrumental progressive metal band from Limerick just simply overflowing with talent in everything they do. Intelligent, diverse and intricate while making it seem easy, over time they have established themselves as one of the best acts in the local scene.
To round off our début we have Dian Chect, a fresh faced yet musically mature offering that have made considerable waves with their incredibly impressive live show, having shared the stage with Maybeshewill, Rolo Tomassi, Axis Of and Anamanaguchi to name but a few. For fans of: Foals, Battles, music, good stuff, etc.
