What a fantastic show, I enjoyed everyone from unexpect through to DT.
Akerfelts cabare was great as usual and they played one of my favourite tracks "Reverie/Harlequin Forest" XD
Dream Theater were amazing, I saw them at download earlier this year and thought they were really good but Fridays performance blew me away, James Labrie blew me away he was so tight every note was pretty much spot on and when they played the dance of eternity I nearly exploded!
Does anyone have any decent photos of the night, I normally get images from flickr but there are only a couple on there.
@fodzy There were some guys behind me during Opeth who would only talk as loud as they could during the quietest parts, needless to say I told them to shut the hell up!
Fantastic gig, rubbish crowd...apart from the guy in the row in front rocking out as much as me to DT. First time I've seen Opeth and certainly not the last, although I though DT's set could've been a bit move varied. Nothing before 2000? Come on!
The acts were awesome, absolutely crap vibe it has to be said. In the first three rows at the far right, almost got a pit going during opeths set until a few of the middle aged guys around us got a little upset.
That and the sodding couple next to me wouldn't shut the hell up.
Because Dream Theater sometimes play long instrumental sections, they made a tent behind John Petrucci's stacks where he can keep a kettle, honey and some water for his voice. Generally a relaxing place for James.
Was somewhat surprised at the choice of the support acts. The Screaming of Opeth and Unexpect seems to be at odds with the melody of Dream Theater. It completely spoils their songs for me. Frost at Leeds earlier in the year was a much better fit.
the As I Am recording was by Pipo & Elo, who are a french couple that do acoustic DT covers
they have covered Scenes From A Memory in its entirety and a few other covers such as As I Am & Pull Me Under
you can download their stuff at http://pipoelo.free.fr/music.html
Dream Theater are fucking boring, really fucking boring live. Cant believe i used to like those pretentious self-indulgent pricks. Why ruin a perfectly good song by having a half an hour keyboard solo in the middle. I think we call all agree that Opeth owned that gig, Harlequin Forest, April Ethereal doesn't get much better than that.
Awesome gig - not that I'd have expected otherwise!
A Nightmare To Remember, Rite of Passage, Keyboard Solo, Sacrificed Sons, Wither, The Dance of Eternity, One Last Time, The Spirit Carries On, In The Name Of God & The Count of Tuscany.

I hope for something like this (going on recent setlists) A Nightmare to Remember - The Mirror - Lie - JR Keyboard - Wither - The Dance of Eternity - One Last Time - In the Name of God - The Count of Tuscany.
