1. Metallica (playcount: 532) http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/252/16036851.jpg Metallica are an American metal band formed in 1981 in Los Angeles when drummer Lars Ulrich posted an advertisement in The Recycler. Metallica’s line-up originally consisted of Ulrich, rhythm guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield, and lead guitarist Dave Mustaine. Mustaine was later fired due to problems with alcoholism and drug addiction - he went on to form the band Megadeth. Exodus guitarist Kirk Hammett took his place. Metallica has been through several bassists, including Ron McGovney, Cliff Burton (who died in a bus crash while the band was on tour), and Jason Newsted.

15 Nov 2008, 6:38 de carmenismWelcome to my Series of Pointless, Themed Music Lists! As the title implies, I will be making pointless, themed music lists. I'll think of some sort of theme and just stick down the first songs that come to mind. Here's the first one.
Red: The Shins - Red Rabbits
Orange: The Grehan Sisters - The Orange And The Green
Yellow: The Raconteurs - Yellow Sun
Green: Al Hirt - Green Hornet
Blue: The Who - Behind Blue Eyes
Purple: Jimmy Hendrix - Purple Haze
Black: The Rolling Stones - Paint It, Black
White: Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin
Grey: Janove Ottesen - Black and White Movie
Brown: Glenn Miller Orchestra - Little Brown Jug
Okay, so I cheated for grey. You won't believe how many black and blue songs there are. Red and orange were tricky. It occurred to me that I could make this a riddle type thing around where I could let people figure out what the theme is. Hmm... Maybe next time. I'm too lazy to go back and change it.

A picture of dissatisfaction
That he can only see as a junkie
Though I might be straight as an arrow
He's busy shaking hands with my monkey
Busy shaking hands with my monkey
Well I go in the car
Straight to the bar
Where my sweetie pours the beer
For the millions of fans ignoring the bands
He's in my ear
Wants me to live in denial
Says you've gotta settle for something
Though it might not be really living
Anything is better than nothing
from New Monkey

7 Abr 2007, 16:52 de evilsoybeanApril 1, 2007: Theologians- This song is gorgeous. My favorite Wilco song. Maybe it's just cause I'm a sucker for piano.
April 2, 2007: My Love- Yes, I finally bought into the JT hype. I resisted this song for as long as I could, just to prove that I'm not a slave to Pitchfork and/or popular culture. Turns out I am, but I don't care. It's fun.
April 3, 2007: Evil Is- Dun-dun-dun-dun-DUN! METAL CLICHES! I'm pretty sure it's not what Early Man intended, but this song is so cheesy it's fun. As opposed to, say, Boris, who I completely respect as metal band, and most other metal bands who just suck. There's a hint of ironic fun to be found in Early Man. It's just hard to take them seriously with those lyrics.
April 4, 2007: Danger! High Voltage- Oh man, I'm addicted to this song. Fake British accents, Jack White sounding like a woman, a funky bassline, and several catchy phrases to yell. What more could I want?
April 5, 2007: Quedate Luna- Beautiful. …
