Few good songs surrounded by some okay songs surrounded by very bad songs. The setlist is inconsistent, songs do not feel like a natural flow. I do not care about glitter pen songs, however there are too many of those for a (then) 30-year-old woman. Sometimes the songs are just childish. Superficial and fake politics, cringe-worth material. I also strongly dislike the visuals of this era. Overall, I just rate this as one of the weakiest eras of Taylor Swift.

You are not alone, but I really do not like it as a whole. I like some songs, though: Cruel Summer, Afterglow, Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince, even Paper Rings which is one of her most glitter pen songs

i get the feeling if it wasn't for the singles (besides the title track) this album would be more highly esteemed. if she wanted a gay anthem, she should've made "cruel summer" about lesbians pining for each other but being in an homophobic town and being scared to confess their feelings. like, girl, that's the cruel summer!!!!

i know folklore/evermore are her storytelling albums but the storytelling on this album has always struck me as so vivid. i lived this cruel summer, i walked cornelia street, i witnessed miss americana & the heartbreak prince..... like i was there

why not? its one of her worst next to midnights. doesnt even sound like she wrote any of the songs and her vocal performances are extremely mediocre. half of the album is music for people under 10

the worst lineup of singles of any pop album ever. she picked the dumbest songs she ever wrote and made them singles with expection of lover. if the lineup of singles were: cruel summer > the archer > miss americana > lover; the reputation of this album would be so much better. at least it aged very very well thanks to her power of making b-sides go viral from time to time.
