I've been a huge fan since Antidotes, but at this point they're just trying to stay above water. To me, Total Life Forever was their last truly relevant album. It's a shame it has been almost ten years since its release.
I love Foals discography. I've been loving each record so far. "Part 1 Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost" is still spectacular, but I feel like this is their weakest to date, even though it is really grower. And my favourite record will always be "What Went Down". I love this band.
The beauty of this band, for me, is they regenerate after each album and make whatever music they wanna fucking make. It's only relevant to you, the individual listener, and if it ain't then fuck it. Don't listen to it. "Everything..." very nearly got Foals their first UK number 1 album (and was beaten by Dave - fucken Ace man we love you too) would suggest you're wrong, though shart16. But that's the beauty of opinion, innit? We all have different ears, brains and spec for FuCkEn BaNgErS mAtEeEeE
Am I the only one disappointed on first listen? In Degrees is a fucking banger, White Onions is fun but a bit repetitive, Exits and On The Luna are amazing, everything else I felt was kinda meh, and Surf Pt. 1 was completely unnecessary there. Dunno if it was the overhype from Exits and On The Luna, but I hope it grows on me. Also, why are a lot of reviews calling it "heavy"? I don't get it lol.
@dawnclover I am, I know. Sorry you ended up in the crossfire between me and the Internet. :D So let's enjoy together to 'In Degrees' cause that one is lit!
@rokkkaholic Not offended. I would just like everyone to be a bit slower on the 'negative feedback' trigger.
How am I just now discovering this band? Some songs from Antidotes sound familiar, so maybe I did listen to them back when and just didn't scrobble. I feel like I've been missing out and I'm just delving in. Damn.
