Three Suites has several songs from the Nutcracker, as reimagined by Duke Ellington. You know the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Faries", but how about Sugar Rum Cherry (Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy)? or Peanut Brittle Brigade (March)?
Many older Christmas songs mix Latin and English, or reference concepts we don't understand anymore (figgy pudding?), but they make a great change of pace. Songs like Gaudete and There Is No Rose of Swych Vertu are some of my favorites. If that's a little too unusual for your taste, songs like In Dulci Jubilo or The Holly and the Ivy should be more familiar.
