"Grammy Award-winner Irma Thomas headlines a Mother’s Day full of music, food, fun and family at Audubon Zoo.
Moms of all ages get into the Zoo for free on Mother’s Day, May 9, 2010!
'Free admission for all moms on Mother’s Day is an Audubon Zoo tradition going back more than twenty years,' said Audubon Zoo Managing Director Larry Rivarde. 'It’s a day full of warmth, as hundreds of families bring Mom to the Zoo for a celebration of togetherness.'
Shop at the craft tents and pick out something special for your mother. Special treats such as stuffed peppers, pastas, baked chicken, hand dipped strawberries and more will be available for purchase so Mom doesn’t have to cook on her special day.
The Pfister Sisters take the stage at 12:30 PM.
At 2:30 PM, Irma Thomas and The Professionals take the stage in an emotion-filled performance, singing directly to the moms in the audience. Their concert is filled with personal anecdotes, old favorites and hot new hits."
