BAND CONTEST GREENFIELD FESTIVAL 2012
thank you and rock on!
i'm stuck between to audycja o życiu pomiędzy znaczeniami.o wędrówce w stronę zachodzącego słońca poprzez dźwięki progresywne, chropowato-gładkie, agresywno-łagodne (czasami nawet łagodno-agresywne!), kanciasto-zaokrąglone, szybko-powolne... Serdecznie zapraszam :)
" The sound is similar to the well known band Tool" No, actually they sound EXACTLY like TOOL, which is no problem of course except that Maynard may sue them for Plagiarism. I think people who are bored listening Tool all the time might like Prisma..
I've gone through their material once now and I can't see why anyone would suggest they're ripping Tool off. Yea, there are some similarities but not that many. It seems some people do not realise Tool isn't the only progressive rock band out there. And they aren't even all that influential lol.
Prisma seems like a band that has some potential. Nothing absolutely brilliant but definately worth checking out.
Tool isn't the only progressive band out there and definitely wasn't the first. they carry just as much similarity to their influences as pretty much any other band. dig a little more into the prog. groups and you'll see that. but for a band to sound like one of their idols? that's just inspired thought evolving.
There is very little originality here. Prisma even copies some of Tool's riffs, but other times its their own stuff which is pretty cool. However, with them being so influenced by Tool, and wanting to make their own Tool songs, they need more than just similar sounding guitar/bass, toms, and repeated lyrics. They need to structure their sounds so that there is a beast let out at the end. This is one of the main reasons Tool is regarded so highly; Tool does it best.
