Songtext
The day is old and winding down
And I've fallen off a four leaf clover
So I built a road that winds around
Onto a bridge that will take me over
To the other side where there ain't no changing tides
Leather hands will wash away
Across the sand and over the ocean
Where I was a pawn in some distant game
And strung along without a notion
Of who I was, or where I was going
Oh, I feel an Angel of Gold
But as fair as it is I cannot behold
A man come down to pardon me
He waved his hands and started praying
Then he lead me down through the parted sea
But I'm not sure if I ever made it
I was on my way but lost in the waves
Oh, I feel an Angel of Gold
But as fair as it is I cannot behold
But I do believe it's the wind
The spirit come to me while wanderin'
To release the sorrow within
Once I learned that I could fly
The Milky Way became my high road
And I left behind a peasants life
I freed my mind and emptied my soul
Of all the troubles of the world I'd known
Oh, I walked with the word I know
But as true as it was I could not be told
Oh, I feel an Angel of Gold
But as fair as it is I cannot behold
But I do believe it's the wind
The spirit come for me while wanderin'
To release the sorrow within
