Ian Crichton is an canadian guitar god best known as a founding member and only constant member of canadian super rock bands SAGA. He was born in 1956 in Oakville/Canada.
He started playing guitar as a teenager and became an active live musician in the mid 70s Toronto live music scene, playing clubs 3 times a day with Led Zeppelin Coverbands and Jams all night long. In 1976 he joined his brother Jim when he and Michael Sadler started a new project with Steve Negus, called Pockets, 1 1/2 year later to be renamed in SAGA. What followed is an 40 years + ongoing journey of success with SAGA being one of Canadas biggest acts with Rush and Triumph.
His biggest influences are Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix aswell as early 70s prog bands like King Crimson, Gentle Giant and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
Ian Crichton is capable of playing any kind of music, he has classic parts, jazz rock, hard rock, blues… He proves himself to be real fast, if that's what you like.
