Clyde Narain alias Chuckie doesn’t need any more praising to explain to the public who he is and what he does. With his innovative style and energy this guy was awarded several times for best and most wanted DJ of this moment. The name Chuckie became a brand and also his productions are world famous.
Born in Paramaribo (Surinam), Chuckie started playing for friends' birthday parties. Now seven years later he has every Dutch club on his name and was one of the headliners of big events like: “Luxurush”, “Roger Sanchez Come With Me”, “Masters At Work @ ADE”, “Lolita Klup”, “Pleasuredome”, “T-Dansant”, “Indian Summer Festival”, “Hilversum Alive”, “Loveland Festival”, “Urban Awards”, “Heineken Fast Forward Parade”, “Ambassador”, “Dance Valley” and “Innercity”.
Chuckie’s jewel “Dirty Ducth” is already praised legendary. Both solo concerts – together with their luxurious private pre party’s – were sold out for weeks before the events. The Dirty Dutch brand expands itself as one of the large areas of the big Dutch event “Mysteryland”. His own club nights “Treetz” and “Blacklist” are also famed for their sold out evenings.
Next to Holland, Chuckie travels among large amount of clubs in countries like England, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, France, Canaries Islands, Belgium, Curacao, Morocco, Turkey, Surinam, Portugal and Spain.
If he isn’t travelling, he’s working in his studio in Amsterdam, where he also produced several hits like: “Partycrasher” (Digidance) – a timeless hit – “Ballen Tot We Vallen” (Digidance), the cooperation with rapper QF: “Slette Houwe” (EMI) and his top #10 hit “En Nu Ga Je Dansen klootzak” (1st Priority Records).
In August 2006 he released a 3000 units limited CD compilation of Dirty Dutch Propaganda. Because of the huge success, the second volume was released in November 2006. Both CD’s were compiled with his latest productions: “Booty On The Dancefloor”, “Feels So Good”, “Para Traz”, the featuring with Gregor Salto “Toys Are Nuts”, his 2007 remix of “Quadraphonia”, his featuring with Sidney Samson “Fire”, mixed with all the tracks he plays in his DJ set nowadays.
Next to his busy career Chuckie also spends time on good aims. He is one of the ambassadors of “Unicef The Hague”, the Dutch integration plan “&” and the red cross initiative “B the change”. For last mentioned he produced a single which is inspired on quotes of world leaders as Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama. The single became top #10 in the Dutch charts.
Chuckie has been rewarded several times for his work: his first award, with the title "Best Urban DJ", he took in 2004 in reception. One year later he prolonged this title and also won an award for "Best club DJ". During the TMF Awards 2006 he was nominated for “Best Dance” together with Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, and G-Spott.
