Saw them live yesterday and the saxophone player said something like "Great you are here, this is the last chance to see us performing our old hits… because soon there'll be new hits." so let's see what the future holds!
One band i seem to push in this unique "love/hate" category. When i want them to be interesting, they're uninteresting. But when they're uninteresting, they're interesting! I lambasted this band, but just like Earth, i find myself coming back again and again.
If there isn't a word for this phenomenon, there might as well should be. It happens with every slow, droney, whatever band i find. First hatred, then intrigue, and before i know it i'm practicing their riffs and my Amazon cart is full of their CDs.

it's sometimes difficult to imagine this much human ingenuity and intelligence assembling at precisely the right time and place to form something as incredible as this, but lucky for us we are also here at precisely the right moment to appreciate it.
What people above me already said; also let's remember, people always keep using same comparisons/mentions which are well known, and sometimes really out of place. Like, mentioning Joy Division on almost every post-punk artist site.
"Comparisons are often made with the music of Angelo Badalamenti, particularly his early 90s work with David Lynch on Twin Peaks. Bohren & Der Club Of Gore fully embrace Badalamenti as an influence, admitting to a love of Fire Walk With Me and declaring a similar interest in a horror aesthetic."
