I was trying her music over and over for two years, as she is among similar artists for The Birthday Massacre, but really, can't get into her. Don't know what gives me this, her plastic voice or just electronic, a bit too "cheesy" sound..
She can't sing, can she? Or is it her gimmick? But I can't help myself loving her. Love the sounds, love the music and weirdly enough her voice works in it all. Have had a break from Ayria a while and just now found her album from last year - sounds promising, very promising. Keep it up, Ayria!
Surprising to see the transition to 100% Futurepop is now complete. Plastic Makes Perfect was such a confusing and misunderstood album but, with Paper Dolls, Ayria is basically a new band with some beats from the HfB days. Strong [:SITD:] vibes here, which is not at all a bad thing. Awesome record, Jen!
Paper Dolls is here! It'll probably take me a few playthroughs to form a better opinion, but I like it so far. I miss the Hearts for Bullets era, but change can often be great. Grimes' new album, Art Angels, for example. :)
So glad I saw Ayria with Project Pitchfork. Hearts for Bullets was an amazing album. The follow up was not good with a few ok songs but overall disappointing. The new album, whew, that was rough, I finished listening to it but it was just terrible. Her passion and her voice have regressed terribly. I did not keep one song, sorry Ayria, 2 bad albums in a row, I don't know what happened, but I'm out, the style is not for me, I'm sad and disappointed that another top band of mine has left my style of music.
It's called Paper Dolls, and it sounds like it was finished a few weeks ago. So hopefully there will be a release soon. Clip for a new song: Under the Water.
