As Friends Rust is a hardcore band from Gainesville, Florida. Though they only had few releases, they were very popular and gained much respect in the underground scene, and grew to tour worldwide. n early 1996 Jeronimo, Henry, and Matt were jamming under the name Wayside. Soon after Damien was recruited from Bird of Ill Omen to step in on vocals. After recording six songs with James Paul Wisner, and making a three track demo, the band soon disbanded, and was not picked up until 1998 when Damien revived it with new members, mostly from the breaking up band Culture.
