Skalitzer Straße 133, Berlin, 10999, Germany
After presenting their super fun debut European show in October 2011, Shameless/Limitless is happy to welcome back of Montreal side project Yip Deceiver for a concert at the much hallowed Westgermany. Yip Deceiver play an engaging, playful take on 80s R&B, new wave and electro, with hooks big enough to lure a barracuda or sea bass or whatever your favorite musical fish is. Their captivating, upbeat live show elicits chortles of glee ranging "Holy hell this is fun" to "Gosh I'm glad this is happening right now and that I am here". Think Chromeo drunk on Kool Aid and Prince and youre halfway there. They are currently in the midst of an extensive European tour. Don't sleep!
For extra incentive, the louche, infamous, fan favorite Berlin-based R&B DANCE Hit Machine HUSH HUSH will open.
HUSH HUSH is the latest incarnation of artist Christopher Kline (b. 1982 USA) who has been working in the Berlin underground for the past 5 years in several groups and under various monikers such as Wooden Veil, Gemeine Gesteine, Snakebraid, and Night Music. He also recently co-opened the project space Kinderhook & Caracas.
HUSH HUSH is a self-styled "hit-machine" mixing r&b, soul, dance and the general Generation X Itunes library of vintage strangeness into one catapult of sweat, hooks, and untethered madness. After touring Europe and the US with Yeasayer, Hush Hush continues to pound stage after stage into a sort of uncomfortable asexual jelly, remolding and playing with the notions of what constitutes a pop-icon or a cult-figure.
Tickets at the door.
