FOXES IN FICTION (Ambient pop/CAN)
Living in Toronto as a recent art-school dropout, the 22-year-old uses his apartment as his creative space and principle studio tool, crafting a unique style of deeply personal ambient-infused pop music using electronic and analog methods. The Foxes in Fiction live show is a striking and intimate experience in which Hildebrand, using his voice, guitar and electronics, replicates elements of his lush pop songs through tapestries of meditative soundscapes, looping techniques and highly humanized ambient electronics.

HAPPY TRENDY (Lo-Fi synth pop/CAN)
Happy Trendy is Dylan Khotin-Foote, a 17 year-old electronic music producer from Edmonton, Alberta. In late 2010, after a successful string of releases and shows under his previous moniker Kumon Plaza, Dylan took a break from said project to form Happy Trendy under idea of creating more introspective lyric-driven compositions. Drawing comparisons to other low fidelity bedroom synthpop musicians like Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, the songs on Happy Trendy’s debut LP “Old Friends” use only his voice and the presets and drum sounds found on vintage Casio keyboards. The end result is a haunting and emotionally evocative mix of perfect pop songs that could have only come from someone like Happy Trendy.
